Job Matching
Personality Jobs Relationships Teams Sample reports

The influence of personality on performance is well recognised in recruitment. Indeed, the practice of interviewing candidates face-to-face is designed to help build a clear picture of each applicant's personal qualities.

Discus assesses the suitability of a candidate for a job by comparing their unique personality fingerprint against the ideal personality type for the job - we call this process Job Matching.

Finding the Right Person for the Job

A candidate’s personality will tell you how they’ll fit into your organisation, in addition to their individual performance. Discus specialises in understanding a personality, and how it will fit into a job. Its Job Match feature will automatically assess candidates' personalities and highlight their potential strengths and likely limitations within a job.

Profiling a Job

Our Discus Job Profiler gives you everything you need to describe any job or role in personality terms, ready to match against the personalities of candidates.

Jobs are profiled using a simple questionnaire, then fine tuned, if necessary, to match your exact needs.

Matching People to Jobs

Discus matches people to jobs by comparing the candidate’s main personality features against any number of specified job requirements. The result is an ordered checklist showing a breakdown of roles most suited to the candidate's individual personality against those that match less well. The Job Match list is ideal for quickly spotting the candidates with the most potential.

Matching Jobs to People

Discus also matches jobs to people. Just highlight any role, and Discus will track down the candidates with the most suitable personalities for that job. Within either match type, Discus can also create a more detailed analysis to focus on a candidate's most relevant abilities, and also discuss any likely training requirements.

Automated personality matching

Discus automation makes matching so much easier and clearer. Just choose a candidate or a job and you’ll immediately be presented with a list of matches like the one shown opposite. Here the matches are summed up as a simple percentage, but a fully detailed assessment is just a click away.

The Job Profile library

Discus comes with a library of more than fifty predefined job profiles. These are an ideal way to get a broad idea of a person's particular strengths, or as a foundation for your own job profiles. There's no limit to the number of job profiles you can create and add to your own library.

How Job Matching Works

Discus Job Profiles define the personality needs of a job, using the same DISC model used to describe candidates' own personalities. These profile factors are then automatically compared to achieve the best job match.

Strengths and limitations

Discus has a description of personality factors for both candidates and jobs and can closely examine match details. By comparing specific features of the personality (eg: efficiency or persistence) it can tell you exactly how a candidate is likely to fit into any role.

Matching aptitudes and skills

Axiom Software tools also include Discovery, an extensive online testing service for skills and aptitudes. These tests, including verbal dexterity, numeracy, comprehension and abstract reasoning, are the perfect complement to Discus Job Match to build a complete picture of a candidate’s potential.
